It's still really hot here, and no rain. The weather channel had predicted rain several days this week, but they're big liars. Wouldn't it be great to have a job as a meteorologist? You get up in the morning, say whatever you want, and go home. And you never get in trouble if you're wrong! We put fertilizer down earlier this week since it was supposed to rain, but we ended up having to turn the sprinkler on to water it in. Unfortunately, I don't know that it's going to do much good...most of the lawn is a crunchy brown at this point.
As for the rest of the week, it was a blur. Kim worked late every night so she could take a half day on Friday (yay flex time). She spent Friday afternoon getting a haircut and renewing her driver's license/license plates. A very exciting way to spend the afternoon off of work, don't you think!? Eric's office is getting ready to release a new version of their software, so he's been busy making sure everything is in working order before they send it to clients. With any luck, they'll be ready to go this week!
Saturday, Kim went to a bridal shower for her friend Allie. The shower was in a small town about 90 minutes away, so the event felt like an all day affair! She also picked up her bridesmaid dress for the wedding -- it's a two-piece with a strapless top and column skirt. Of course, Kim's so short that she can pull the skirt up under arms and the hem still touches the floor. Guess she'll be getting that hemmed!
Saturday night, we met Miller for some Mongolian BBQ. Then Miller and Eric spent the night playing ever PS2 game known to man. They had to play a full five games to break the tie, but Eric managed to pull out as victor of NHL Hockey. Phew!
Today we cleaned house and ran errands. We priced out some new ovens, and we also picked out hardware for our kitchen cabinets. We're hoping that the new knobs and pulls will dress up the cabinets and make the kitchen look a little more modern. Actually installing them is a job for another weekend, though! We also picked out paint for the cornhole boards, so we just need to wait for a cool weekend to paint them.
