Thursday kicked off our weekend, as Kim's office had a weekly happy hour. Her office has these events fairly regularly, but they normally end by 6. This time, it was just getting started! Eric joined the group at BW3s when he got off work, and Kim finally left at 8 so she could let Peanut out. Eric and the rest of the group stayed until past 9!
Kim had Friday off in honor of the Assumption (yay Catholic holy days), so she took that opportunity to visit the outlets and walk around the Greene. Eric made the mistake of telling her to "buy as much as you want" (since normally this jinxes her and she finds nothing), but she ended up with two pairs of pants, a skirt, a cardigan, and four shirts.
Saturday started the "birthday weekend" adventures. Eric spent the morning cutting, sanding and installing the legs for the cornhole set. Then we cleaned up for our big night out: dinner at the Melting Pot! For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Melting Pot is a fancy fondue restaurant. We did the "big night out" option, which is a four-course meal. We started out with a cheddar cheese (you can choose from 6 kinds of cheese), and we had apples, bread and veggies to dip. Next was the salad course, and we went with the California salad. Next was the main course. We went with the Mojo cooking oil for a Caribbean flavor, and our meat selection included beef, Filet Mignon, pork, shrimp, chicken, and butternut ravioli. Oh, and a selection of veggies. While all of that was delicious, nothing compared to dessert: chocolate! We chose the turtle chocolate (chocolate, caramel and walnuts), which came with bananas, strawberries, rice krispie treats, pound cake, marshmallows and cheesecake. It was amaaaaaaazing. Well worth every penny! We stopped at IKEA on our way home to do some browsing...and walk off our big meal.
Today we decided to go to the zoo. There are two big zoos within an hour of our house, so it was a tough call deciding where to go. We ended up going to the one in Columbus, and we had a great time! In fact, we spent 3.5 hours just walking around!

We put the first coat of paint on the cornhole set when we got home. Our plan is to put on another base coat later this week, and then start on the design. With any luck, it'll be finished next weekend!
Current gas price: $3.67/gallon.
