365 Project | Day 119

I hate dandelions. And yet, they looks so pretty in photographs. If only they weren't all over the yard.

Is it May yet?

For the most part, the week's not worth mentioning. Both of us had insanely long and frustrating work weeks, so we were pretty tired and no fun in the evenings. And to top it off, Eric had to go to D.C. for a work trip over the weekend - no rest for the weary.

While he was gone, Kim planted flowers on Saturday and added solar lights to the garden. Now we just need fresh mulch (next weekend!), and it'll look really good. And on Sunday, she started cleaning out the closets in the guest room and den. Not a fun project, but a necessary one...and wow, have we been storing a lot of junk for the past four years!

Since all the joints work now, baby is squirming and wiggling. I haven't felt any movement yet, but it should happen sometime in the next month or so. And although the eyelids are still fused shut, baby can sense light. Apparently, if I were to shine a flashlight at my stomach, baby would move away from the light. (I don't particularly like people shining bright things in my eyes when I'm sleeping either...)

365 Project | Day 116

We also added solar lights to the garden, too. I think they add a lot!

I love spring. And I'm so glad the tree in our backyard bloomed...I was worried about it after two branches died last year.

Busy (but chilly) weekend

First - I promise pictures are coming. They're on my camera, but I haven't had time to download them to the computer and upload them to the web.

As for our week...the weather was gorgeous Monday through Thursday, but it got cold and gross this weekend (figures). On the bright side, Matt and Morgan came to spend the weekend with us, and we had a great time in spite of the chilly weather. On Saturday, we went out to brunch and then Morgan and Kim went to the outlets while Eric and Matt...I'm not sure what they did, actually! We grilled out steaks and baked potatoes for dinner (so tasty!) and then played Wii and watched movies all night.

After Matt and Morgan left this afternoon, we ran to the store to look at ceiling fans. This was the fourth store we tried, but we had success and came home with two matching fans! We got the first one installed tonight (it took two hours, but hey, it works) and hope to get the other one up tomorrow. It's definitely a huge improvement over the dinky little light that was in the room before. Eric also got the lawn mowed and sprayed for dandelions before the sun went down, so it was a pretty successful day.

Baby is the size of a lemon this week (3.5 inches long!) and can now squint, frown, grimace and possibly suck his/her thumb. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat at my appointment this past week, which was awesome, and everything seems to be going fine.

365 Project | Day 108

Today's project: replace the crappy bedroom light with a ceiling fan. It's also the first project in making the room a nursery!

Morgan and I hit up the outlets, and I got a cute pair of new flats. (To keep my other shoes company, naturally.)

365 Project | Day 101

We went on a walk this afternoon, and Addison wanted to walk Peanut (see the leash in her hand?). She leaned over to give Peanut a kiss, and Peanut was more than happy to oblige. I was about a split second too early snapping the picture, but you can see her go in for the kiss - and Peanut's tongue hanging out.

Family weekend

Whew - what a week. We just got back from a quick trip to B'ton to celebrate Dad L's birthday. We were fortunate enough to spend a little time with Julie, Bryan and Ty before they headed home from their impromptu trip, and we also got to spend some time with Melissa and Addison.

We managed to make great time on our trip home...until we stopped for gas and to squeege the bugs off the windows. Ah well...at least we made it back while it was still light out. This time of year is the best!

In baby news...this will be week 13. Baby is the size of a peach and is almost three inches long. (We've come so far...with so far to go...). Baby has tiny fingerprints, and teeth and vocal cords are developing.

Current gas price: $2.76/gallon
