Merry Christmas!

What a busy week. Rather than typing out everything that's happened, here's our week in pictures:

Drive home was very snowy and slow-moving (I think there were about 6 inches on the ground when we left), but we made it back safely...and had a wonderful holiday with everyone.

In the holiday spirit

We got our first "substantial" snow of the winter this weekend. Ok, it was only 3/4 of an inch, but it was enough to coat the ground - and make it feel like Christmas is actually approaching. It's so hard to believe it's 4 days away. Where has this month (or year, for that matter) gone!?

On Friday night, Matt and Morgan came to town, and we headed to see TSO. As usual, they put on a great show, and they outdid themselves in special effect yet again.

Yesterday, we had hoped to go to the aquarium, but since it was snowing we decided to forgo that excursion. Instead, we hung out and played the Wii. After dinner, Kim's brother joined us and we headed to the bowling alley. This bowling trip was not nearly as successful (at least score wise!) as the last time we went - but it was still fun. And we were so glad we got to spend time with everyone.

Mmm, cookies

If there were a theme to this week, it would be cookies. There are approximately 300 sitting on our kitchen counter - and that's only half of them (Kim's parents were the lucky recipients of the other half). Kim and her mom baked three nights this week, which was a lot of fun. Now we just need to share the cookies so we can't eat them all - easier said than done, probably.

Friday night was the Flyers game. The game was faster paced and more physical than we are used to - but we managed to pull out a win. (Phew!)

Last night, we went to Julia and Tony's house for dinner and then went bowling. While we had to wait awhile to get a lane, we had a great time once we finally got a chance to bowl. Eric went from last place in the first game (with a score of 76ish) to winner in the second game (with a score of 171). Ringer! Kim on the other hand bowled mid-120s both games and got second place both times.

Today Kim and her mom baked 12 dozen (yes, dozen) sugar cookies and then we all went out to dinner.

18 shopping days left

Not sure if this week went by quickly or slowly...you know how that goes. Kim's aunt (and her new husband) were in town for a few days this week, so we spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night hanging out with them. It was nice to spend time together and relax (plus Kim's mom cooked dinner every night, which was an added bonus!).

As for the rest of the week, we got our Christmas cards out (yes, we're overachievers) and muddled through the work week.

Yesterday, we went to the Flyers game and cheered as all 16 players (yep, even the walk-ons) saw action on the court. We ended up winning 89-71. Then today, Peanut went to the groomer (and his fur and breath smell much better now!) while we went grocery shopping and found a new bookcase for the office. The room just needs some curtains and decorations (and, Eric would argue, a big TV) and it'll be in pretty good shape.
