Have we mentioned that the weather here is very fickle? We went from low 70s early in the week to mid 40s this weekend. Ick! Why can't the nice weather happen on the weekends when we can enjoy it?!
On Monday, one of Kim's coworkers invited several people over to cook out and watch the NCAA tourney. We had a great time grilling out (in flip flops!), playing frisbee, and watching the game.
Thursday started out on a sour note. As Eric was driving to work, a car kicked a rock up at his windshield and, you guessed it, there's a crack. The repair people were supposed to take a look at it on Friday, but since it was raining, that'll have to wait until tomorrow. However, things improved (at least for Peanut!) later in the day. First, the groomer ooh'ed and ahh'ed about how cute he is. Then, she decided that the cost of having his nails trimmed and filed was excessive, so she'd only charge us for trimming them -- since he was just so adorable. At the check out line, the cashier thought Peanut was so cute she gave him not one, not two, not three, but FOUR treats. I guess looks really are everything.
This weekend has mostly consisted of running errands, packing/doing laundry, cleaning the house and other fun odd jobs. We were a little stir crazy by dinner time last night, though, so we decided to go out for dinner. This morning, we met Kim's dad for brunch. Eric went to get his oil changed and was told it would be a 2 hour wait. Sooo, he walked around some stores in a nearby strip mall. When he went back to get the car 2 hours later, he found out that they had changed his oil less than 15 minutes after he had dropped it off. Needless to say, he was not pleased.
Our bags are all packed and ready for our trip, so we're just keeping our fingers crossed that the airlines won't have delays/cancellations this week. We'll be thinking about you as we sip our umbrella drinks on the beach -- but you'll have to wait an extra week to hear about our trip!
