Not so lazy summer days

Nothing too noteworthy happened during the work week...and Eric spent most nights remoting into work to finish a project. Needless to say, we were pretty excited when the weekend rolled around!

Friday we headed to our local outdoor amphitheatre (same one where we saw a Rolling Stones tribute band a few weeks ago). This time, there was "summer fest" with a band singing songs from Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley, Steve Miller Band and others. One of the perks of this amphitheatre is you don't actually have to go in (and pay!) to listen to the music. We decided just to sit on a park bench by the fountain and listen for awhile. Then we headed to DQ for some ice cream on our way home.

Saturday started out as a day of cleaning, but we ended up with the house messier than when we started. After getting everything put away, we decided to go through the millions (okay, maybe dozens) of boxes that we've had sitting in there since we moved in. We figured that since we haven't used that stuff in two years, odds were pretty good we didn't need all of it. After pulling out all the boxes in the guest room, we ended up tossing one large garbage bag of junk and have 3+ boxes ready to go to Goodwill. More will probably be added to the 'donate' pile before we're done.

In the cleaning frenzy, we also realized that we were very short on bookshelf space. So, we moved the small bookcase from the living room into the guestroom (and loaded it up with books) and got a new small bookcase for the living room (which happily matches the color/style of our other furniture).

Today was our standard errands day. We also finished putting the cornhole sets together and put a coat of primer on them. We've also come up with designs to paint on there...but that's a project for another weekend!

Current gas price: $3.97/gallon. (Though we sadly did break $4 this week. It jumped to $4.09 on Tuesday and just went back down this morning).
