Happy New Year! We were fortunate enough to have a short work week with the holiday, so that was a nice way to ease back into the swing of things after our 11 day vacation. Of course, that means this 'real' work week is going to be brutal. We spent New Years Eve with several friends at our house. We all got dressed up (though it took some convincing to get the guys to put on nice shirts), and rang in the new year in style.
Wednesday morning -- our first day back at work -- we were greeted with 6 inches of snow, and over 1 foot drifts. As you can imagine, we were thrilled to get up extra early in the freezing cold to shovel the driveway and crawl into work. On Friday, Kim's office had a great day of celebration as they reached a new milestone -- over 10,000 applications have already been received. Phew! Good thing she's not in charge of reading them.
Last night, we went over to Eric's coworkers house to watch the football game. We had a great time, and we even learned what Webkins are, thanks to their kids. Today Kim's dad had us over for brunch and then we took down all our Christmas decorations. It was a pain to get the Christmas tree in the attic (it's so big, it has to lay across the attic beams), so I think we'll be leaving that one in the corner of the garage next year!
